Welcome to the BYU Museum of Art. The MOA is among the most popular and visited University art museums in the entire United States. From the beginning BYU’s Museum of Art has always had dynamic exhibitions that rival national and even international museums. The museum has its own impressive permanent collection, and they frequently bring in world-class traveling exhibitions organized by museum curators.

The most extensive collection of Minerva Teichert original art is housed at the BYU Museum of Art. Although not all of Teichert’s art is on display at all times, there is always a generous amount of her artwork to be seen and enjoyed. BYU began collecting Minerva Teichert art in the 1930s and has maintained a wonderfully growing collection since. BYU MOA has received gifts of Minerva Teichert’s work and now has over 90 of her completed paintings and nearly 70 of her drawings and sketches.

The MOA works closely with other organizations trying to preserve and display works by Minerva Teichert. There are many pieces of her art that are not owned by the University and are in either private hands, or owned by companies such as Zions Bank. The University of Utah is also another repository of Minvera Teichert’s art; the schools work together in cataloging and indexing Teichert’s various pieces.

BYU is funded, in large part, by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church itself is the owner of many pieces of art by Minerva Teichert and displays the art in their own Church History Museum in downtown Salt Lake City.
